Fall events at the Union County Museum

Sep 8, 2026

Wow! Can you believe summer is winding down and fall is in the air. Despite the daytime heat and the terrible wildfires, the evenings are cooling down and the days are getting shorter. As our museum season winds down, we have some fun events in September, and we hope you will stop by the museum for a visit and join us at an event. The museum remains open on its regular schedule of Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Saturday, September 26. Following are event highlights.

  • The annual Fall Yard Sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 11 & 12, in the Little White Church across Main Street from the museum. Yard sale organizers Val Stockhoff and Louise Weeks report there are donations from board members and patrons, as well as some duplicate items from the museum collection. There are sure to be some ‘treasures’ to add to your household or to give as gifts. As proved popular at our last two sales, shoppers can choose what to pay on most items. What’s it worth to you? Hours of the sale are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Proceeds from the yard sale benefit maintenance of the Little White Church. Come for the yard sale and, while you are there, visit the museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The Union County Museum invites you to a High Tea, Saturday, October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the historic Little White Church across Main Street from the museum in Union. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for high school or younger students. Included in your ticket price is a tea buffet, a short program, a visit to the Museum and you get to keep your teacup and saucer! Seating is limited, so be sure to purchase tickets soon! They are only available at the Union County Museum, Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The annual membership meeting of the Union County Museum Society is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. An annual meeting is required of all non-profit organizations in Oregon and it is our chance to get direct feedback from members about the museum, our plans and your suggestions. During the meeting, members will vote on the annual budget for new the fiscal year that runs from October 1 through September 30 and lapsing positions on the board of directors. Board members up for reelection are Anne Rodriguez, Carol Mulvany, and Jana Dick. The board will also take suggestions for filling two recently open positions, which they will appoint to fill at the next board meeting. We also use this meeting to honor people we have lost over the year and to recognize and thank our amazing volunteers. Board President Josh White will give a brief review of the 2026 season. There will be reports and Q & A from Curator Sharon Hohstadt, Treasurer Carol Mulvany, and the committee chairs. The raffle drawing will take place for the last two themed gift baskets, which contain lots fun items. Please plan to join us for this meeting – we value your membership and input. Refreshments will be available.
